Abstract

Transdermal patches, or drug delivery systems embedded in the skin, offer significant advantages over injections and oral medications. Bypassing needles and first-pass metabolism, they boost patient compliance and provide controlled, continuous drug release. This eliminates the peaks and valleys of traditional methods, minimizing side effects and supporting drugs with short lifespans. However along with all these advantages there are also many limitations with this system. This review on TDDS offers valuable insights for researchers exploring this innovative drug delivery technique.
